Size

Mountain View Stone ledge stone rustic is made up of a variety of irregular shapes and sizes and roughly textured to create its rugged appeal. This versatile pattern will create a dramatic impression on the interior or exterior of your next project. This profile was created using a unique blend of natural stones. Ledge stone can also be blended with field stone to create an old-style rustic look. Ledge stone is a stone veneer product measuring 1" to 2" thick and therefore thinner than traditional stone siding for easier, lighter handling. All our manufactured stone veneer products are suitable for interior applications such as stone accent walls or stone fireplaces as well as exterior applications such as stone veneer siding. Mountain View Stone ledge stone is available in boxes of 10 square foot flats, boxes of 7.5 lineal foot matching corners, and 150 square foot bulk crates.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I understand that flies are in many ways better than mortar? Do you have a specific adhesive you would recommend?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our installation instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. For the surface prep, which is the most important step, you will need to install a moisture barrier and then install wire lath over that. Make sure the nails or screws for wire lath hit studs to ensure a good foundation. Your scratch coat goes over the wire lath and then the stone veneer. We recommend our stone veneer and brick veneer be installed with Type S mortar. Mortar is recommended for installation opposed to an adhesive as mortar is cheaper than adhesive, and when installing with an adhesive you must hold the stone in place until the adhesive sets which really slows down installation time, whereas mortar instantly holds. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • We would be looking for approximately 750 square feet of the ledge stone rustic and 45 lineal feet of corners, what would the lead time and landed total be?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our website has a built-in freight calculator, simply add products to your cart, add your delivery address, and you will be provided with shipping options including shipping costs as well as estimated delivery times. Shipping costs will vary depending on the amount of stone veneer you purchase and where the product is being shipped to. Please note that the estimated delivery times do not include production times as our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around four – six weeks. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Do you allow pick up at your location?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our production facility is in Fair Play, South Carolina which is in the upstate of South Carolina, but we ship orders all over the country. Orders can be picked up from our location, however we do need to process the order manually as our website does not allow you to select pick up as an option at this time. Please feel free to email us at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you process an order via pick up. Please note our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around four – six weeks. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Good morning! I wanted to ask if there is a cleaner that you would recommend that is safe for my stone? I will not be spraying directly on the stone. I need to spray my Hardie board and gutters before I pressure wash but do not want to put anything that will harm my stone. Thanks.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. We recommend using a "non-etching" cleaner. Prosoco Sure Klean Light Duty Concrete Cleaner is typically a safe concrete cleaner to use for stone veneer, especially if it will be diluted by the time it is applied to the stone veneer. We always recommend testing any cleaner on a small non-installed piece, if possible, first. Our care and maintenance instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Can stone veneer be cut to fit narrow sections?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is not real stone, it is man-made and made of Portland cement. You can cut the stone veneer with a diamond cutting wheel, skill saw, or tile saw with a diamond cutting blade and grind the edges off with a side grinder. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • I am wondering about picking up directly rather than shipping? If not, how much does the shipping add to the cost per square foot? By the way, your stone looks beautiful.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our production facility is in Fair Play, South Carolina which is in the upstate of South Carolina, but we ship orders all over the country. • I am wondering where you are located and if you have showrooms any where?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our production facility is in Fair Play, South Carolina which is in the upstate of South Carolina, but we ship orders all over the country. Unfortunately, we do not sell through local distributors, only via our website. We have several images on our website, however you can see all of our images on our Pinterest gallery https://www.pinterest.com/mountainviewstone. All of our completed installation images are customer submitted and they are true to color, we do not enhance or manipulate our photos at all. There may be some differences from image to image, however this variation is caused by different lighting conditions and image quality. We offer samples of all of our brick veneer and stone veneer at https://mountainviewstone.net/collections/samples. Our samples, on average cover a 6"x6" area and are actual product. Our samples allow you to see and touch the product and get a good understanding of weight, thickness, color and color variation, etc. We encourage all of our customers to test our samples to ensure they meet your standards and expectations, and of course if you have any questions please let us know, we are more than happy to help you! And as an added bonus when you purchase Mountain View Stone samples, we cover the shipping (applies to the continental USA. For orders shipping to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico please contact us for shipping rates). You can order a sample of the specific product you are looking at here https://mountainviewstone.net/products/ledge-stone-rustic-sample. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Is the pricing per square foot?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our pricing is available on our website. As our pricing can change it is best to view the price on each product page prior to placing your order. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Can I or do I need a top piece to finish it off? Thanks.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer does not come with a top ledge piece; however, we offer this as an accessory. Please see https://mountainviewstone.net/products/window-sill. Our sills measure 3" deep, by 17.5" long, however you will most likely have a grout joint in between them so for measuring purposes please use 18", by 2.5" tall in the back and 2" tall in the front as our sills have approximately a 1/2" slope from the back to the front for water runoff. Installation is easy, simply install the back flat to the wall, no need to tilt or angle them down. Also, our sills have a drip edge groove cut into the bottom side so water cannot run behind the stone veneer installed underneath the sills. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • I would love if you could quote me a shipping charge to Connecticut. I am not positive which style of stone I would go with but I like the ledge stone rustic. Right now I am just looking for pricing and delivery times. Also, I read that shipping usually takes 5-6 days once the is manufactured. Do you know approximately what the delivery date would be? Thank you for your help!

  • Will this stone need to be sealed? We just finished tiling our shower and floor and will be using Miracle 511 Porous Plus. If the stone needs to be sealed, can we use the 511 Porous Plus or do you recommend a different sealer?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is suitable for interior and exterior installations, including showers. We recommend our stone veneer and brick veneer are sealed when used in a shower. A concrete sealer is not required, however, sealing with a concrete sealer will add protection especially over the mortar joints. Please keep in mind that different concrete sealers will affect the appearance of the stone veneer. A matte (or flat) finish will have little to know impact to the finished look of the stone veneer whereas a gloss finish will darken the stone veneer and have a wet look. We recommend testing your concrete sealer on a piece of stone veneer that has not been installed to ensure you are happy with the finished appearance after applying concrete sealer. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • What is the general rule for calculating how many corners will be needed? For a fireplace.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is suitable for interior and exterior installations, including fireplaces. The easiest way to determine the square footage of stone veneer flats you will need is to measure the length and to measure the height of area you will be installing our stone veneer on and multiply them together to get the total square footage of stone veneer flats needed for your project. Corners are not required but they offer a professional finish by wrapping perfectly around a 90 degree outside corner. If you decide to use corners you will need to calculate the lineal feet required by simply measuring the height of all outside corners as our corners are sold by the lineal foot. On each product page there are options for both flats and corners (to the right of the main product image). Please feel free to email us the dimensions of your project at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you estimate the number of corners and flats you will need to complete your project. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • I was looking for some help in calculating materials (especially corners). I am wrapping an existing fireplace. The dimensions are approximately 13’ X 6’. The corner will have a reveal of approximately 4”. We would have to account for the actual fireplace (material and corners). The fireplace is approximately 3 feet square. I am interested in the ledge stone rustic.
