Ledge stone is made up of a variety of irregular shapes and sizes and roughly textured to create its rugged appeal. This versatile pattern will create a dramatic impression on the interior or exterior of your next project. This profile was created using a unique blend of natural stones. Ledge stone can also be blended with field stone to create an old-style rustic look. Ledge stone is a stone veneer product measuring 1" to 2" thick and therefore thinner than traditional stone siding for easier, lighter handling. All our manufactured stone veneer products are suitable for interior applications such as stone accent walls or stone fireplaces as well as exterior applications such as stone veneer siding. Ledge stone is available in boxes of 10 square foot flats, boxes of 7.5 lineal foot matching corners, and 150 square foot bulk crates.

Ledge stone is an individual stone product and is installed piece by piece. The individual stones will vary in size, shape, and thickness. In order to achieve the desired natural stone finish as shown in our images it is up to the installer to arrange the individual stones in the correct pattern and install each stone one at a time. This product is made of Portland cement and we recommend installing using a Type S mortar.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How many square feet per box?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. There are 10 square feet of flats per box and 7.5 lineal feet of corners. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • I understand that flies are in many ways better than mortar? Do you have a specific adhesive you would recommend?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our installation instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. For the surface prep, which is the most important step, you will need to install a moisture barrier and then install wire lath over that. Make sure the nails or screws for wire lath hit studs to ensure a good foundation. Your scratch coat goes over the wire lath and then the stone veneer. We recommend our stone veneer and brick veneer be installed with Type S mortar. Mortar is recommended for installation opposed to an adhesive as mortar is cheaper than adhesive, and when installing with an adhesive you must hold the stone in place until the adhesive sets which really slows down installation time, whereas mortar instantly holds. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • We would be looking for approximately 750 square feet of the ledge stone rustic and 45 lineal feet of corners, what would the lead time and landed total be?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our website has a built-in freight calculator, simply add products to your cart, add your delivery address, and you will be provided with shipping options including shipping costs as well as estimated delivery times. Shipping costs will vary depending on the amount of stone veneer you purchase and where the product is being shipped to. Please note that the estimated delivery times do not include production times as some of our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around two – three weeks. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Do you allow pick up at your location?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our production facility is in Fair Play, South Carolina which is in the upstate of South Carolina, but we ship orders all over the country. Orders can be picked up from our location, however we do need to process the order manually as our website does not allow you to select pick up as an option at this time. Please feel free to give us a call at 864-882-8960 Mon. - Fri. 8am - 5pm (EST) and we can help you process an order via pick up. Currently our production lead time is around two – three weeks. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Will this stone need to be sealed? We just finished tiling our shower and floor and will be using Miracle 511 Porous Plus. If the stone needs to be sealed, can we use the 511 Porous Plus or do you recommend a different sealer?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. A concrete sealer is not required, however, sealing with a concrete sealer will add protection especially over the mortar joints. Please keep in mind that different concrete sealers will affect the appearance of the stone veneer. A matte (or flat) finish will have little to know impact to the finished look of the stone veneer whereas a gloss finish will darken the stone veneer and have a wet look. We recommend testing your concrete sealer on a piece of stone veneer that has not been installed to ensure you are happy with the finished appearance after applying concrete sealer. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Good morning! I wanted to ask if there is a cleaner that you would recommend that is safe for my stone? I will not be spraying directly on the stone. I need to spray my Hardie board and gutters before I pressure wash but do not want to put anything that will harm my stone. Thanks.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. We recommend using a "non-etching" cleaner. Prosoco Sure Klean Light Duty Concrete Cleaner is typically a safe concrete cleaner to use for stone veneer, especially if it will be diluted by the time it is applied to the stone veneer. We always recommend testing any cleaner on a small non-installed piece if possible, first. The care and maintenance instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Can stone veneer be cut to fit narrow sections?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is not real stone, it is man-made and made of Portland cement. You can cut the stone veneer with a diamond cutting wheel, skill saw, or tile saw with a diamond cutting blade and grind the edges off with a side grinder. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • I am wondering about picking up directly rather than shipping? If not, how much does the shipping add to the cost per square foot? By the way, your stone looks beautiful.

  • I was looking for some help in calculating materials (especially corners). I am wrapping an existing fireplace. The dimensions are approximately 13’ X 6’. The corner will have a reveal of approximately 4”. We would have to account for the actual fireplace (material and corners). The fireplace is approximately 3 feet square. I am interested in the ledge stone rustic.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. The easiest way to determine the square footage of stone veneer flats you will need is to measure the length and to measure the height of area you will be installing our stone veneer on and multiply them together to get the total square footage of stone veneer flats needed for your project. Corners are not required but they offer a professional finish by wrapping perfectly around a 90 degree outside corner. If you decide to use corners you will need to calculate the lineal feet required by simply measuring the height of all outside corners. Please feel free to email us the dimensions of your project at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you estimate the number of corners and flats you will need to complete your project. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • What is the general rule for calculating how many corners will be needed? For a fireplace.
