Size

Mountain View Stone ledge stone tuscany is made up of a variety of irregular shapes and sizes and roughly textured to create its rugged appeal. This versatile pattern will create a dramatic impression on the interior or exterior of your next project. This profile was created using a unique blend of natural stones. Ledge stone can also be blended with field stone to create an old-style rustic look. Ledge stone is a stone veneer product measuring 1" to 2" thick and therefore thinner than traditional stone siding for easier, lighter handling. All our manufactured stone veneer products are suitable for interior applications such as stone accent walls or stone fireplaces as well as exterior applications such as stone veneer siding. Mountain View Stone ledge stone is available in boxes of 10 square foot flats, boxes of 7.5 lineal foot matching corners, and 150 square foot bulk crates.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • If we need to order and additional box or two, should we be worried about slightly different coloring than the rest of the rock we have?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. The new order will most likely appear a little darker at first until the stone veneer fully cures. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • I am looking at the ledge stone tuscany, I have 38.5 lineal feet of corners and 118 square feet of flats. I know the corners take up some of that square footage so how many boxes would I be looking at total for this project including some extra for broken and waste stone?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. The easiest way to determine the square footage of stone veneer flats you will need is to measure the length and to measure the height of area you will be installing our stone veneer on and multiply them together to get the total square footage of stone veneer flats needed for your project. Corners are not required but they offer a professional finish by wrapping perfectly around a 90 degree outside corner. If you decide to use corners you will need to calculate the lineal feet required by simply measuring the height of all outside corners as our corners are sold by the lineal foot. On each product page there are options for both flats and corners (to the right of the main product image). Please feel free to email us the dimensions of your project at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you estimate the number of corners and flats you will need to complete your project. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • How do recommend we clean the stone after it has been installed and on an on-going basis?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. We recommend using a "non-etching" cleaner. Prosoco Sure Klean Light Duty Concrete Cleaner is typically a safe concrete cleaner to use for stone veneer, especially if it will be diluted by the time it is applied to the stone veneer. We always recommend testing any cleaner on a small non-installed piece, if possible, first. Our care and maintenance instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Our bathroom and bedroom will have more brown and tan colors. Would you recommend the rustic or the tuscany to better match this theme? Are the pictures presented on your website an accurate description of color of the ledge stone? Do you have any interior project pictures you can send to me?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to advise you on which color to use as it depends on many factors, mainly personal preference. We have several images on our website, however you can see all of our images on our Pinterest gallery https://www.pinterest.com/mountainviewstone. All of our completed installation images are customer submitted and they are true to color, we do not enhance or manipulate our photos at all. There may be some differences from image to image, however this variation is caused by different lighting conditions and image quality. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • What is your normal lead time on shipping?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our website has a built-in freight calculator, simply add products to your cart, add your delivery address, and you will be provided with shipping options including shipping costs as well as estimated delivery times. Shipping costs will vary depending on the amount of stone veneer you purchase and where the product is being shipped to. Please note that the estimated delivery times do not include production times as some of our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around four – six weeks. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • I have a couple questions about ordering ledge stone tuscany. I need 5 boxes of corners and 9 boxes of flats. On your website it tells me there are no shipping methods available for my order. My next question is, is this available for pick up directly from your location in South Carolina? If so, what is the rough weight of a 10 square foot box?

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. We apologize that you were unable to proceed with your order, your order meets minimum requirements, and we have verified that everything is working on our end. If you still experience the issue, please feel free to email us at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you process an order. Please note our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around four – six weeks. Our production facility is in Fair Play, South Carolina which is in the upstate of South Carolina, but we ship orders all over the country. Orders can be picked up from our location, however we do need to process the order manually as our website does not allow you to select pick up as an option at this time. Please feel free to email us at info@mountainviewstone.net and we can help you process an order via pick up. Please note our items are made to order. Currently our production lead time is around four – six weeks. Each 10 square foot box weighs roughly 80-90lbs and corners weigh roughly 70-80lbs per box. Each 150 square foot box weighs roughly 1450lbs. Pallet dimensions for a 150 square foot pallet are 48" x 40" x 28". Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • Can I order and pick up at your location to avoid the shipping? I live in NC.

  • The stone will be used for one wall in a shower. I am waterproofing the shower with Kerdi Board which will be the walls. I do believe I need to put a scratch coat up on the wall before installation, can you confirm this? In addition, do I need to use metal lathe over the waterproof board before putting on the scratch coat? I am wondering if this is necessary since I would rather not put holes in the membrane. Can you advise? Your help is appreciated!

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is suitable for interior and exterior installations, including showers. We recommend our stone veneer and brick veneer are sealed when used in a shower. A concrete sealer is not required, however, sealing with a concrete sealer will add protection especially over the mortar joints. Please keep in mind that different concrete sealers will affect the appearance of the stone veneer. A matte (or flat) finish will have little to know impact to the finished look of the stone veneer whereas a gloss finish will darken the stone veneer and have a wet look. We recommend testing your concrete sealer on a piece of stone veneer that has not been installed to ensure you are happy with the finished appearance after applying concrete sealer. Our installation instructions can be downloaded at https://mountainviewstone.net/pages/post-purchase-support. For the surface prep, which is the most important step, you will need to install a moisture barrier and then install wire lath over that. Make sure the nails or screws for wire lath hit studs to ensure a good foundation. Your scratch coat goes over the wire lath and then the stone veneer. We recommend our stone veneer and brick veneer be installed with Type S mortar. Mortar is recommended for installation opposed to an adhesive as mortar is cheaper than adhesive, and when installing with an adhesive you must hold the stone in place until the adhesive sets which really slows down installation time, whereas mortar instantly holds. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

  • How close are the pictures to the real thing? Thanks.

  • Hi, I am considering your Mountain View Stone product. We are doing a fireplace 9’ tall and 66” wide with outside 90 degree corners on plywood. The pit is 40” wide by 38.5”. The sides are 9’ by 15”. My guess is 54 square feet. How much extra is needed? How much product do I need? Thanks.

Thank you for your question and interest in our stone veneer. Our stone veneer is suitable for interior and exterior installations, including fireplaces. • We would like to understand your current manufacturing situation. We are seeing some incredibly long lead times from other vendors, but do not have visibility to whether that is site related or industry shortage across the board. Thanks for your help.
